Every child has a gift, a talent, something only they can contribute to their community and our world. It's up to their parents and caregivers, and the other adults around them, to help each child discover and nurture their gift.
Limitless Purpose was founded on the single goal of helping children reach their limitless potential, regardless of any disability or disadvantage they may have.
Unfortunately, more children today face barriers to success than ever before. A lack of resources and opportunities prevent them from being all they can be in life. In many situations, children with disabilities or special needs are held back by the very systems and services intended to help them.
Limitless Purpose is inspired by the story of Lila Mozingo and her family's efforts to have her taught in an inclusive learning environment. Because of their own struggle with the systems and services intended to serve their daughter (see LimitlessLila.com), they wanted to do something to help other families. The Mozingo family knows that Lila is limitless - just like all children can be - when loved, supported and challenged.
Children of all abilities are invited to attend the free event. The 2024 event will be held on Saturday, March 16 at The Meech House at Mungo park. Click below for full event details. The event is free but registration is required.
Limitless Purpose has selected more than 100 recipients for the 2023 Limitless Learner Summer Incentive Awards, which total nearly $25,000 of financial incentives to help children 18 and under with a disability to enjoy a developmental opportunity this summer. Opportunities funded include summer camps, swimming lessons, therapeutic horseback riding, karate lessons, reading tutors and more.
In only three years, Limitless Purposes has recognized over 225 Limitless Learners throughout South Carolina, providing more than $53,000.
"Parents of children with disabilities know there are not many opportunities for summer learning and fun available," said Padgett Mozingo, volunteer President of Limitless Purpose. "Easing the burden of the added summer costs to make experiences happen and celebrating these young people is one way Limitless Purpose is working to help all children grow, learn and thrive."
